With just 5 games left of the season The Lions faced a confident Cincinnati Dutch Lions team for the second time around. After the first match up between the two Lions outfits, The St. Louis team may not have got the result they wanted but that was soon to be forgotten as Captain Vadim Cojocov put his team ahead just before the end of the first half. The inform striker was then awarded a second penalty, which he calmly put in the back of the net in the 85th minute. The 11 men of Cincinnati found it hard to compete with an inspired home team performance from the Heartland Division leaders.

Vadmin Cojocov then capitalized again off a good pass from Midfielder, Greg McCrudden, which took the goal scorer to 8 goals for the Season which moves him to 4th in the PDL for goals scored. The Lions strong back line continues to impress, as well as goalkeeper Casey Clark, who earned his 4th shutout of the season. The next week for the Lions brings on a tough test as they plan to set their sights on the post season and an important double header against Thunder Bay Chill this upcoming weekend.

"I am very pleased with the result against Cincinnati, they are a very good team. It was a close game, but we created chances and capitalized on them. The win helps going into next week as we face Thunder Bay at home for a double header. These two games will be crucial, to take 6 points from them will put us in good position to advancing into the post season."

Head Coach, Tony Glavin
