Lions Take Another 3 Points from Saint Louis FC U23!
3 Game St. Louis Derby Ends with Lions Taking 7 points from STL FC!
The 3 Game St. Louis Derby between cross town rivals, St. Louis Lions and Saint Louis FC U23, kept the fans on both sides on their toes. Wednesday night's game in Collinsville was another hard fought game. The Lions came out on top with another victory in the final game of the 3 game series, with 2 wins and 1 tie.
Head Coach of the Lions, Tony Glavin said "It was a tough game, Saint Louis FC is a good side. I was very impressed with the efforts of our guys. Our team played very disciplined. Dylan Hundelt put a header in the net, off a corner by Martyn Sayer at the right time to give our team the additional momentum to continue strong throughout the match. Our guys at the back, Troy Reeves, Jonah Garbin , Krystian Streit and Dylan Hundelt did not give much up, and if they did goalkeeper Casey Clark was there to stop it. Their efforts were tremendous."
"We welcome Cincinnati Dutch Lions, our cross division rivals to our house this weekend, Sunday June 25th at 2pm. Although they are not in our division, it is crucial for us to do well. When we met them earlier this season we thought they were a good team, and this weekend's game will be challenging. We need to do well coming into our double header the weekend of July 1-2 against Thunder Bay, in order to stay in the top two of our division in order to advance in the post season."
